Coe and the civilians are now trapped in the hangar. Dozens of Demons were raging outside the building searching for them.

'Vic, scan the surrounding hangar and check if there are any other alternative routes,’ asked Coe.

'Right away.’

Vic then triangulated the entire hangar building on the screen. The building layout tilted sideway and revealed an underground sewerage system connected under the building.

‘There seems to be a huge sewerage system lying below the building capable for human to cross the threshold,’ said Vic.

‘Check where does it link to,’ asked Coe.

‘Give me a second,’ replied Vic as he pressed a couple of buttons. ‘It seems that this is the main route for the city sewerage system. And it is link to the city outskirt nearby the bunker too.’

'Good,' said Coe. ‘Lead me the direction below.’

‘Ok, the pump room is located at the southeast corner of the building. From there, you will find a service hole to the underground sewerage.'

‘Alright,’ said Coe. ‘Come on people. Follow my lead.’

Before anyone could respond, suddenly the ceiling above was shattered and a demon jumped down. Knowing the demon landing location, Coe gave a strong sway kick before it could reach the ground. The demon was knocked far back to the wall.

'MOVE! Everyone into the pump room,' shouted Coe as the demon regained its consciousness. Another one jumped down from the ceiling.

Coe threw the second demon as soon as it landed to the previous demon. Two more demons broke through the main gate. Fortunately, everyone went inside the sewer. Coe dashed into the pump room without delay and closed the entrance hole to the sewer.

Inside the wet and humid sewer which only lighted with man made lighting, everyone waiting for Coe’s command.

‘What’s the condition in the entire system?’ asked Coe.

‘It does not seem like a good idea staying in these pipes for too long. I’ve detected demons all over the system but none close by. You have to move quickly. Take the east route now.’

Coe leaded everyone with Vic guidance.

‘Okay we are reaching the exit in just another turn,’ said Vic. ‘Move quickly, there are a few demons behind you. The exit is just hundred of foot away to the north along this stretch of pipes now. Wait a minute. I’ve detected something in front too. Bad news, three demons are entering from the exit. You are being trapped in the middle.’

In the V.A.L., after a few minutes, Dtil rushed back to Selph.

‘We have responds from the West Federation,’ said Dtil. ‘They had begun immense scanning since yesterday and here’s the report of it.’

Selph opened up and read the report. To her dismay the results showed demons were multiplying in great amount beneath the earth surface since 2 years ago.

‘Impossible!’ said Selph. ‘This reports showed the figure of the demons had reached to an unbelievable amount deep inside our planet. If they ever rise all up, there will be no tomorrow.’

‘How long do we have?’ asked Dtil.

‘Very soon. We can’t afford to lose more time.’

‘What is our next move?’ asked Dtil. ‘We won’t be able to kill every single Demon out there like the Valkyries does.’

‘I know,’ answered Selph. ‘The entire world is struggling too. There must be a way like the Valkyries did in the past. Dtil, send a direct message to …. ’

Inside the speeding Jet, another lady appeared behind Star as she tapped on her shoulder.

‘Don’t worry,’ comforted Jess. ‘We’ll reach soon. Everything is going to be fine as long as Soul and I around.’

‘You bet so, Jess,’ added Soul as her voice merge from the far back of the sit.

‘Ma’am,’ called the pilot. ‘We have received message from the V.A.L. H.Q.’

‘What it says?’ asked star earnestly.

‘I’ve displayed it on the screen panel in front of you,’ replied pilot.

Star frowned as she read the message.

On the other side of the city central, Sher alone was handling a group of demons consist of both Ghosts and Ghouls. One by one the demon advances but slain by Sher as soon as they approached.

‘Selph!’ called Sher. ‘I can't hold this long. The enemies are penetrating to the city core now.’

'Understood,’ answered Selph. ‘Do your best to slow them as much as possible.’

‘I will,’ said Sher as she slashed another Ghoul dead in front of her.

‘Kristine! How’s Sher performance?' asked Selph to the operator who monitored Sher as well as the evacuation operation.

‘Her battling ability and power has been recently upgraded to B rank,’ replied Kirstine.

‘How about the evacuation carried out?’

‘All area has been evacuated except for Central Core and North Sector. But the entire country seems to be covered with Demons all over. The states armies are now battling with fighter jets. But I am afraid it’s going to be useless.’

Selph thought in silence for a moment.

‘Dtil, Contact the West Federation. They have completed the SSO - Satellite Scanning Outpost two days ago. I’ve asked them to send a copy of the substantial scanning report for us. See if they have done so, if not get it right away.’

‘Yes ma’am,’ answered Dtil.

-= WARNING! Spirit. Demon rank B-III =-

She looked around and saw two new demons she had never encounter before. Each wear a mischievous looked mask and held an eccentric short staff. Inexplicably those slain Ghosts and Ghouls around them begin to rise from the ground even those injured badly. Sher was astounded in addition she was getting exhausted after so many hours of battle.

The device on Coe’s left arm displayed a message.

-= WARNING! Ghoul: Demon rank C =-

Coe without wavering, she dashed back all the way to avoid close contact with the demon.

‘Neon, be careful,’ said Vic. ‘This demon will not be as easy as the previous one.’

She was standing 15 meters away from the demon when one of the civilian appeared behind it. The demon tried to kill the lady. Coe quickly pulled out a couple of throwing shurikens from her pouch and flung it to the demon. The shurikens warded off from the demon due to its extremely hard skin but her action stopped the demon from killing the civilian.

'Good job,' said Vic. Now you have drawn its attention.’

Coe looked at her inventory but she’s only left with two shurikens and a knife tied with string. She looked around for other solution. Coe dashed aside one of the building for cover.

Unexpectedly the demon appeared from the other side as it tried to smack Coe with its huge claw. Coe quickly dodged and rolled aside.

'It's fast.' Coe told herself. In another instance the demon launched a second attacked. Coe had no choice but to block its huge arm. The demon strength was strong enough to hurl her a few meters as her back knocked to a wall.

'Ouch! I must think of a way.' Coe looked around. In a glanced through the window behind she saw two oil tanks inside the backyard. She quickly jumped towards the window glasses breaking through. The demon ran through the building wall breaching through. Coe threw the knife sling and tied the demons leg causes it to fell on the ground.

Without hesitation, she jumped out from the opposite window while throwing the remaining last two shurikens from her pouch. The shurikens punched through the oil tanks and the entire house blown up. Few seconds later it collapsed.

'That was great,' said Vic. 'Now rendezvous the civilian. They are all trapped in a small hangar building ahead.’

Coe rushed towards the hangar. She opened up the huge door and saw the civilians. Everyone seems to be scared.

'I’ve come to rescue you all,' shouted Coe. ‘Quick, everyone please move to the bunker nearby.’ Abruptly her device sounded and displayed a message.

-= Ghost. Demon rank D =-

'Neon,' interrupted Vic. 'I've a bad news for you. You are being surrounded. A dozen of demons are outside now. You cannot lead the civilian out.'

'What should I do?' Coe asked herself.

Chapter 3 - Mission One

In the central HQ, a dozen of people wearing sky blue coat assembled in front of the large screen busy monitoring mainframe. Selph walked over to one of them.

'Vic, you are assigned to guide Neon,' said Selph as she tapped on his shoulder.

'Yes ma'am,' replied Vic as he pressed a couple of buttons on the touch screen monitor and the screen in front of them focused images of Coe.

'Neon,' called Vic. 'My name is Vic. For this mission I’ll be your guide. Proceed your way to 30 degrees northwest for a distance of 140 meters as indicated in the map on the device.’ A voice merged out from the communication device on Coe's arm. 'They are a few dozen of civilians around that area. Get them towards east and lead them to the bunker at sector 12.'

'Affirmative,' answered Coe.

'Neon, choose your route wisely,' said Selph. 'Our main precedence is to evacuate the citizens to the safety first. Avoid unnecessary battle.'

'Currently the S.P.S. indicated that they are approximately 4 creeps along the way,' said Vic.

'Got it,' said Coe.

Coe ran forward and she saw a demon in front of her. A message was displaying in the device.

-= Ghost: Demon Rank D. =-

'Be careful, although they are slow but these types are capable to tear down a tank,' said Vic.

Coe pulled a dagger from her right lap. The dagger was made of hard titanium steel coated with diamond dust. In a split second, she dashed across the demon as she sliced its throat. Then she saw another two more demons pillaging the city. She scurried to one of them and sliced its throat similar to the previous one. To her dismay, the dagger begun to thaw as the stain of the demon blood was extremely acidic.

'Weapon state degraded to 43% efficiency,' said Vic.

Without hesitation, she quickly threw the dagger toward the remaining demon on the other side. The dagger spun with tremendous speed toward the demon and pierced its head.

'That was .... Impressive,' said Vic as he was awed.

Suddenly a demon jumped right in front of her and the device on her left arm displayed a message.

-= WARNING! Ghoul: Demon rank C =-

What she saw was a demon much diverse and superior then the previous one she had encountered.

Somewhere far away up in the sky, a jet plane was speeding through the dark clouds. Sitting inside, a shadow of a lady figurine was revealed by the dim light of the seat above. She pressed a few buttons by the side of the arm support and message was displayed out in the small panel screen in front.

'Tsk...' hissed the girl.

Back to V.A.L. headquarter.

'Coe, I have assigned you with a new name and from now on you will be known as Neon,' said Selph as Coe nodded. 'Since you aren't train with any vehicles yet, I have allocated you with a rider. Dtil, get Roy ready and bring Neon to the transit yard.'

Without further delay, everyone preceded to their exertion. When Dtil and Coe reached the yard, they saw a mini three-wheel-bike catered with a passenger sit. Inside the driver sit of this red shinning bike was a young and cute teenage guy.

'He's Roy,' said Dtil as he knew Coe was still in qualm. 'From now on, he'll be your personal rider to bring you to any place you need to go,' said Dtil. Coe jumped into the passenger sit. 'You wouldn't be able to bring weapon in this small vehicle as the vehicle was design so it could cross any terrain without difficulties. We will send your weapon to you by all mean as soon as possible.'

'But...' interrupted Coe.

'Do not worry, Roy might not be a good fighter but he's an excellent driver...' Suddenly the bike dashed out from the yard before Dtil was able to continue. Coe glared at the exit.

'Pardon my actions but we need to hurry,' said Roy with a soft and gentle voice. 'By the way, nice to meet you.'

'Em... Nice to meet you too,' replied Coe as her expression on her face quickly changed as soon as she heard his tender voice. 'You seem very familiar to me.'

'But I don't think I've seen you before,' replied Roy. 'Okay hang on, we are taking a dash here.' Coe grabbed on the safety bar by the passenger sit as the bike turned into a dark alley rocking its way across many obstructions along the narrow lane.

In a split second, the bike jumped out a couple of meters up and a crossed a high fence made with steel bar. Finally they have reached to the north sector.

'We have arrived,' said Roy. 'Following will be up to you. I will be waiting for you here.'

'Thank you,' said Coe as she hopped out from the sit. Then she pressed the communication devices worn on her left arm. 'Neon reporting arrived at destination.'

Coe now stood in front of a wrecked city illuminated under the blue moon light. The night was early and the winds were strong. Her loosen hair were flowing along with the rhythm of the wind.
